Platforms for the Co-Creation Economy
Once was Consumption, now Curation, will be Creation – a Tale of the Few, the More & the Many.
The Content Economy is changing. For good. The 20th Century was the era of mass media, where an elite Few created content and the Many consumed it. It was a clear and effective economic model: Few made, Many consumed. The opportunity for profit was clear. That was the Consumption Economy.
Now in the early 21st Century, that model is changing. Consumers now question paying for content. Increasingly they expect it for Free.
And that name – Consumers. It’s not really accurate any more. We are all Makers now; we all create some form of content on the Social Graph.
Well in truth the Few is not yet the Many, rather we are the More. And yet already, we the More, are generating a vast Long Tail of Content. Discovery is now arguably the internet’s greatest problem; one which the emergent Curation Economy seeks to solve. Even so, this too shall pass. And soon, for the Creation Economy beckons.
But how do we get there? For Moore’s Chasm lurks between the More and the Many.
Makur Media is building bridges to cross the Content Chasm. Our first bridge will be a prototype - a Platform. Specifically it will be a Content Co-Creation Platform. It will take its form and structure from the wisdom of the Few and harness the will of the More to engage the hearts of the Many.
Watch this space to see our Platform take shape. Better still, why not join us in building it? If you are interested in helping architect the birth of a new Content Economy, then we want to hear from you.
